Yup, Elaine and I went to her apartment complex’ gym just now. I did mostly elliptical workout and worked out with some small weights. We watched the end of 13 going on 30. It was nice having the gym to ourselves. Today, we went to Elaine’s friend, Kim’s house for Delia’s belated birthday party. The food there was great. It was bbq’d chicken, corn on cob, salad, sweet bread roll, chips, watermelon, and chocolate cake. Everything was delicious! It was fun playing with Calvin too. He’s gotten so big. I was really frightened when he was jumping at me. We’re getting up early tomorrow to go to the river. We’re going to have a relaxing afternoon of floating down the river in Elaine’s new raft.

This week was great and fast! We had Monday off. Work was really fun for me. I think this is the first time I’ve enjoyed working that much! Everyday this week, I’m coming in earlier and earlier, just so that I can get more done. Usually I’m very picky about the time spent working but lately I lose track of time. Also, strangely enough, even though I got less sleep, I’ve been super energetic. A coworker compared me to the energizer bunny. I don’t know why I’ve had such a rush these few days. My appetite has been low… like even whe I’m eating something good, I don’t really care about it. So I don’t know how to explain the boost in energy. This weekend I’ll head up to Sac to hang out with Elaine. If the weather is good, we’re planning to go on her raft down a river in Sacramento. It’ll be relaxing.

This last weekend was fun. On saturday, my family came up to bay area and we all went to Kelly’s graduation banquet. Her actual graduation was the Friday afternoon before, but since it was hard for people to make it she invited us all to the Saturday thing. Also, my cousin, his wife, and his 2 boys came. I don’t see them often so it was nice. The banquet was for SouthEast Asians.. they called it the SEAGrad. It was fun because everyone there has a similar history to me and my family.
Here is Kelly giving her short thank you speech. She started crying so her voice was unsteady. It’s blurry but…

And here’s all of us!

Today, when I was walking to Whole Foods to get some apples, I noticed a group of people with signs about fair treatment and stuff outside my building. I think they’re janitors and they’re going on strike. Then later today, the janitor came around and took my trash. I thought it was unusual because I’ve never seen the janitor during my working hours before. But even more weird was that they left all of the trash, in big garbage bags, in the aisle. Is this a sign of protest? Not sure. I guess I’ll know tomorrow if the trash is still there.
Work was okay today. I did a lot of debugging and not much testing. Hopefully I’ll have some unit testing done before tomorrow’s status meeting.

Work was ok today. Nothing to complain about it. I spent most of the day on coding environment issues, so that was a bit tiring. These always happen so I just have to stay focused and look forward. I always feel so down when I can’t get something to work.
The weather was much nicer today and the last few days. I got into my car and was able to make do with just the lowest setting of A/C. Just yesterday I had to crank it to the 3rd one and it still wasn’t enough. Anyway, I came home and had a short DDR workout. About half hour of continuous play. I would have gone longer but there was no circulation in my room and I was dripping with sweat.
For dinner, I cooked chicken and some fried rice. They are separate because I marinated the chicken with Korean BBQ sauce and I wanted it on the side. The fried rice is made with eggs, green onions, and sliced white mushrooms. Lookin at the picture I realize I should use more greens. It looks like such an unhealthy mean.
Oh well, it was pretty tasty in my opinion. And I’ll also have it for lunch tomorrow.

Today was not as warm as yesterday but it was still uncomfortably hot. I hung out with Joseph. We went to Fry’s for me to buy a cd album. When we left the store, we bought hotdogs from some little cheerleader girls. It was a really good deal. 1 hotdog and 1 can of soda for 50 cents! I was like, “for real??”. Haha.. Then we came back to my place and watched Nanny Diaries. It was a sweet story and I cried a little at the end. Then, we went to Sunvalley mall because we had nothing else to do and we wanted A/C.
I ended up spending money on clothes. I don’t regret it though. I got a pair of olive green shorts from Express. I like the material.. kinda thin but not see-through. Then, I got three shirts from Forever21.

After shopping, Joseph and I went to Nama Sushi for dinner. I got a Caterpillar Roll. It was good and satisfying. After eating, we came back to my house and watched Sweeney Todd. It was so bloody! Worse than Dexter. Yeah, it was a very disturbing musical. It’s funny.. I totally didn’t know what it was about before. I hadn’t seen any previews for it.

This is what the Severe Weather Alert says about East Bay Area:
“A STRONG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN OVER THE AREA THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THIS WILL ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO RISE FROM 95 TO 105 ON SATURDAY. TEMPERATURES ARE FORECAST TO COOL A BIT ON SUNDAY.
A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS EXPECTED. THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE POSSIBLE. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS… STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM…STAY OUT OF THE SUN…AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS.”
I’ll most likely be moody later. I just got home from work (which had nice air conditioning) and I had a great day. So I’m not moody now because I’m still feeling good about my day. I gave my presentation and it went well. I felt very useful and helpful today. I like this feeling the most!
I’m in a dancing mood so I want to play DDR. It’s too hot though, so I guess I’ll play later. I’m already sweating now, just sitting here and typing and having 2 fans directed at me.
Oh, I should be pointing one of them at my computer! I hope it’ll be okay. Also I’m packing away all of the blankets I used as extras. Look how neat it is:

It’s going to be warm all weekend, so if I’m not doing anything, I’ll make some trips to some cool places like the mall or the book store. Maybe I’ll buy some more fans or some big ice packs. Actually the bookstore sounds nice and relaxing. I’m looking forward to it.

Wow, I can’t believe how fast this week was. It seriously was to me. I guess it’s because I was pretty busy and doing work that I enjoy.
I’m about to give a presentation to the developers in my team. I’m kind of nervous but I don’t think it’ll be too bad.
I read the news today and there was this one article about a 6 year old boy who tried to jump onto one of those lawn mowers that you drive. It was being driving by a neighbor and when the boy jumped, he slipped and fell at the same time that the driver put it in reverse and backed up. The lawn mower mowed one of his legs so he had to have it amputated below the knee. Reading the article made my stomach hurt. In the future, I’ll be sure to educate my kids on things like that. For sure!

I just brushed my teeth right now and my toothpaste was warm! Isn’t that weird? I think it is. The temperature is going down (because it’s night time) but the humidity will go up to 65%. >_< No blankets tonight.
On a different subject, I’ve been listening to this Japanese Pop band called NEWS a lot lately. I really like them and their music. Their name means North East West South because the members comprise of people from those four different regions of Japan.
And they’re cute!

To me they’re more cute than hot, but they can be hot at times. My favorite is the one in the middle. His name is Tegoshi Yuya. He’s so pretty now.. he’s the prettiest guy I’ve ever seen. He’s the best singer in the group (popular opinion) and funny too. Kind of a prankster.
The group’s new single, Summer Time, just came out. I’ve been listening to it a lot and it’s a fun song to sing while driving. Check it out here on youtube if you want! Also a live performance on a tv show: here.

So Hot!

It’s really hot today.. it’s really uncomfortable. Weather forecast says its 98 degrees F and 30% humidity! I can’t believe it. Just a few days ago it was windy all the time and the nights were cold to the point where I went back to using three blankets in bed. I guess it’s no use complaining about it.

The dvd/divx player I ordered from Amazon arrived today. I’m kind of upset at the UPS guy… It was left where there was direct sunlight shining down on it. I can’t believe that. I hope it wasn’t messed up in any way by the heat. I’ve tried it out and it seems to work like it should. I think it was a good buy. I’m actually going to give it to my mom. I think she would like it a lot. I like it so much that I might get one for myself even though I don’t really need it.
After work, I was so uncomfortable in the heat that I didn’t want to cook anything so I ordered teriyaki chicken bento from Nama Sushi. I only ate half of it so that I can take the other half to work for lunch tomorrow.
