I left work around 5:15pm today and on my way home, Joseph called me right when I was about to get home. He asked if I wanted dinner and it was perfect because I have nothing to eat at home. [I really should go grocery shopping.] We decided on Nama Sushi. He just got a haircut at the salon in the walgreens shopping center so he walked to the restaurant from there. I got a teriyaki chicken bento box. Joseph got a Ryan Roll and calamari appetizer. It was a tasty dinner, better than anything I could’ve made today. After dinner we went to Goldilocks, a Filipino Bakery / Restaurant in Concord. We shared a dessert called Babinka, which was a delicious sticky rice type of cake. I really like sticky rice desserts and I think good ones are hard to find. I remember having a very good mango sticky rice dessert when I was younger but I haven’t been able to find out what it was called or where to find it. I should just ask my mom! She might know. Joseph and I also got two French sponge cakes, but I haven’t eaten mine yet. After dessert, we went home. The reason Filipino desserts came up as a topic tonight was that at work, a coworker on my team just got back from vacation in the Philipines. He brought us Filipino sweets. I had some Buko cake (which I loved) and some yema (really liked but too sweet).
Speaking of sweets, I’m eating some Japanese candy at the moment! It’s from my ladybug jar!
I’ll try to sleep early today… got a 6AM meeting tomorrow!
