This week was really fun. We got 25 new employees on monday. I was a mentor to one of them so I was helping some of them get set up. We have a new tennis buddy from this class too. ^_^ I’m really glad. I think we need more people though… having 5 people isn’t a good number. It would be ok if we had two courts though, so we can do 2 and 3. Next time we have 5 or more, we should do it at Cal High which has 6 courts. The students are out of school so I think it shouldn’t be used much. But who knows! Tennis is quite popular. ^_^ Oh also, I won my first WCRC women’s singles league match. It was last weekend. I double faulted all kinds it was pissing me off. I need to take time to practice my second serves. It’s embarrassing. I might be underestimating my rating… the girl I played seems to be sort of a beginner. Her strokes weren’t quite right. Not that there’s really a right or wrong, it just looked beginner-ish. Also she lobbed a lot. It’s a good technique on me though… since I’m the type that will try to end it by attempting winners. Kelly and I are going home to Sanger for a long weekend so I’ll probably have a chance to play some tennis with my brothers. Looking forward to it. Not looking forward to the heat though.

It’s hard staying awake. I don’t have much work right now, which makes it even harder. As far as the move goes, I’m almost done unpacking. I’m mostly done with my room but I still have boxes to unpack in the kitchen. Not to mention, I still have to go clean the old place! =( Not looking forward to it. I need to borrow a vacuum cleaner somehow. Also I need to get rid of that desk. It’s small but it’s pretty heavy. Ah, so many chores.

I spent most of this last weekend moving. It was thanks to Scott and my coworker, Konstantin, that I was able to get most of my stuff over. They moved my big things, such as the couch, my bed, and the tv. Now my new room is cluttered with boxes. I have unpacked only a little and I’m not looking forward to unpacking the rest. First I need to transfer the internet service. Then, move my computer (still at the apartment) and set up my desk. I guess I’ll do it next weekend.

After work today, I’ll be moving some stuff to my new place. Mostly small things since I’ll be doing it by myself tonight. I went to pick up the keys on Wednesday and Kanako, my housemate, said she’s seen spiders and moths there. I don’t really mind as long as they’re not huge. She, on the other hand, is terrified of spiders. So, she warned me she may scream when she sees one.

My summer tennis league has started. So far I haven’t played any matches yet. I’ve scheduled some and waiting for others to get back to me. Nothing this weekend though since I’ll be busy moving.

Yeah, it didn’t work out. The girl flaked out on me, but it’s ok. I ended up going to Ikea and finding a good-sized and pretty light desk for 30 bucks. It’s more like a table but it’s very sturdy. It’s still unassembled and sitting in my trunk. It’s only about 20lbs but I didn’t want to take it upstairs to my apartment only to bring it back down a few days later when I move. I’ll probably drop the desk off when I go pick up my keys this thursday. I’m kinda excited. =)
